Mother's Day Giveaway!!!

A few weeks ago, I realised that Mother's Day was fast approaching.  As I know that the majority of my readers are mothers themselves, I wanted to put together a great giveaway.

I am so proud to have put together this little pack for a lucky reader.  I am so lucky to have such wonderful sponsors!!!

Are you ready???

First up is something for you to write your thoughts in.  This gorgeous Journal and felt cover is from Mooo.  Valued at a total of $44.90

I am totally in love with this next item.  I love the colours.  This gorgeous Handmade Camera Strap Cover is from Zoe at Little Swallow Blog.   Valued at $15, I can't guarantee that it will actually make it into the prize bag.  Just kidding.  :)

The next item is something for you to go shopping with.  Kelly at Well I'll Be Darned knits gorgeous handmade custom items.  Need a beanie for Winter?  What about some booties for your new baby?  Or a pair of knitted slippers?  You can choose what you would like and the colours you would like with this Voucher!

The next item is just stunning.  Kathy at Stamped Elements makes gorgeous, affordable, personalised stamped jewellery.    These earrings are just stunning.  Valued at $35.  I have a personalised necklace from Stamped Elements that I love!

This next item was donated by the one and only Second Little Reason, Lucy.  When she got wind of what I was doing, she wanted to make sure that the kids had something to do... you know... so the Mama got some quiet time.   She said she will also throw in a colouring book.  Gosh I love her.

The next item is a $20 voucher for Lenard's.  Send hubby in to buy something for dinner and get him to cook it!  The Risotto Stuffed Quarters are my favourite.  Yum!

If you were to think about what ONE item is the MOST bought for Mothers Day...  you would know what the answer would be.  The winner of this competition will be sent this gorgeous bouquet of flowers.  I chose this bouquet personally.    Interflora have the most exquisite selection of flowers for any occasion and they deliver Australia Wide!  Don't forget YOUR Mother this Mother's Day.  This bouquet is valued at $100.

I Heart My Family

Amongst all the lows, all the down days, I am the luckiest girl around.

Driving into the garage to find this stuck to the wall.

The "I" is missing as it has flapped behind the LY sheet.
After dinner dances.

I am blessed.

Touch Down. {Digital Parents Conference- Part 2}

As the plane touched down in Melbourne, it hit me again.

Like a tonne of bricks.

I was actually doing this.

And I was ALONE!

My body walked itself off the plane, hitting the brisk air as I stepped of the platform and into Melbourne Airport.  In a daze, I followed the herd of people to collect my luggage.

While waiting, I sent a text to Gemma.  I knew she was going to be my guide for the weekend, but I was unaware at this stage of how much of an awesome, loyal and gorgeous friend she would become.

I was so nervous.  Even though I had been chatting with these girls forever, I had never met them face-to-face.  What if they didn't like me?  What if we didn't click (like we did online).  My fears were real, but totally unwarranted.

After meeting up with Gemma from My Big Nutshell, Daisy from Daisy, Roo & Two, Jess from Diary of a SAHM, Fiona from My Mummy Daze and Maria from Mums Word, we jump into the airport shuttle and made our way through the busy city to our hotel.

We jammed a lot into that ride.  Birth stories, blogger stories, life stories, back to birth stories - well there was 20 birth stores between us!

After dropping our bags into our room, we decided to walk our way to find a bottle-o.

Priorities people!

We have them.

We walked the 20 minute walk to Chapel Street.  I soaked it all up.  The architecture,  the trams, the sights, the sounds.

I wasn't in Kansas anymore.

And I didn't have Five Little Reasons Shadows.

The Red or the Blue?  Which would you choose?

We reached Chapel Street and went left to find a place to eat lunch.

I could have seriously spent all week in this street.  The cafe's, the vintage shops, the antique stores.

Typical view of a Bloggers lunch!

After buying out the bottle-o, we decided to catch a Tram back to the hotel.

You know... when in Rome and all that.

You could tell we were from out of town.

I quietly giggled as we tried to figure out how to pay for our ride.

I was in my element.  Snapping photos.  No kids harassing me.  Taking in every single moment.

Risking being arrested for a great shot.

Running ahead like a clown to turn back and snap my friends.

We made our way back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner and a planned "Pre-Conference Drinks" do that Laney from Crash Test Mummy had organised.  Thanks so much to The Melbourne Wine Room for having us and Alta Vineyards for supplying the drinks!

St Kilda is a gorgeous place to be.  As I sat at the table waiting for other girls to arrive, I turned around to look at the sunset.  Something the Five Little Reasons and I do a lot.  We count the colours in the sky.  I was amazed at the colours that night.  I have never seen a sunset so deep.  So orange.

Just stunning.

I was having so. much. fun.  Even though I had never met any of these girls before, we knew each other so very well.  I mean, we read each others blog, but it was deeper than that.

So many different girls in one room.

All with different backgrounds. Different lives.  Different stories.

And it was good.

Remembering the Reasons

In the daily mundane, it is easy to forget about the little things.  The things I love about each child.

As I walked around Seaworld today, I took time to silently remember the glorious traits that each of the Five Little Reasons are blessed with.

The way that they are all so very compassionate.  They will always look after each other and run to help when another reason is hurt.  They even do it to strangers.  They will look after younger children on the playgrounds and Hayden and Lucy especially will make sure a younger child is having the most fun over them.

The way that Oliver tells me 500 times a day that he loves me all the way to the moon.  One minute he is watching the dolphins... the next, for no reason, he is calling out "I love you all the way to the moon Mama!"

The way that Lucy holds her siblings hands while walking.  And not for the "safety" reason.  Just because.  Walking along the pathways her and Joshua hold hands and talk like an old couple.

The way that Joshua treats me like a Princess.  He is forever asking me if I am having fun.  "What would you like to do now Mama?"  He is constantly walking beside me.

The way that Hayden will ride on the "little kid" rides all day long and not complain ONCE that he didn't get to go on a "Big Boy" ride.  I love that he still gets a thrill when riding on the Merry-Go-Round.  And I know deep down that he is only doing it to be "a part of the family".

The way that I can sit on the grass while the big 4 play in the Sky Fort and Camille is quite happy to sit on my lap and blow raspberries on my cheeks... for 1/2 an hour!  Her gorgeous sweet grunts as she squeezes me so tightly for a hug make me smile.

The days can be rough.

But the days can also be magical.

You have to remember the little things.

Monday Quickie {Getting to Know Me}

I hope you are having a great Easter.  We are off for a day of adventure on this absolutely stunning Easter Monday in Paradise.

I wanted to share my ALL TIME FAVOURITE song.

Of all time.

I am a big Goo Goo Dolls fan.  I think it was something that surprised Brett when we first met.

It was another thing that he fell in love with.

So here you have it... my all time favourite song.

Just another thing you now know about me.

Five Little Reasons hit Dreamworld

The biggest thing I love about having a blog is being able to expose the Five Little Reasons to things that Brett and I wouldn't ordinarily be able to offer them.

When we received our ticket to check out Dreamworlds "Dreamworks" makeover, I don't know who was more excited.

After having Naomi from Seven Cherubs and her family, Zoe from A Boys Mumma and her two gorgeous boys and Amy from My Life as a Cake and her little family at our house killing time before the event, we headed into Dreamworld.

When we arrived, of course, I started snapping touristy photos.

After we were escorted inside the park, we headed to our dinner party where we fed the tribes and were given some awesome goodie bags.

Dreamworld has many awesome eating areas with plenty of atmosphere.  I would totally have a birthday party here.

After dinner we headed into the new Dreamworks Animation Precinct.  I was reluctant to think that anything was going to be different - however, Dreamworld have outdone themselves.  The set is Aah-May-Zing!  You totally feel like you have been dropped in the medieval fairy-tail land of Shrek's Faire Faire Away.

The precinct is full of awesome cheeky photo spots so you can still get a great photo even if you missed getting your picture with Shrek himself.

The rides are the same, however, because they have been totally made over, the kids thought they were all new!

One of my highlights of the night was getting to spend time with Naomi from Seven Cherubs and her gorgeous family.  I got to know her eldest, Chelsea, a little more and discovered that she is madly saving for an SLR camera and would love to be a photographer.  I made her night when I handed her my camera and said "Have fun!"

By this stage, it was time to head to King Julien's Theatre in the Wild to watch the 20 minute Madagascar Live - Prepare to Party Show.  It was FANTASTIC.  I love any show that keeps all FIVE of the reasons captivated for the whole time!  My kids are big Madagascar fans.

The lighting when we arrived was green, so we had fun cackling like witches.

After the show, the big kids ran off for more ride fun and I took the little two down the bottom of the precinct for an explore.  We bumped into the beginnings of Po's Garden which will be a new Kung Fu Panda land due to be complete in late 2012.  It will have all new rides and attractions.

Kung Fu Panda is another Five Little Reasons favourite, so we are looking forward to this land being opened.

I spent some time towards the end talking to the Dreamworld staff, who have a renewed energy after the makeover and agreed that it was long overdue.  I was telling them that we had Dreamworld passes for 3 years, until last year we decided (because it was getting so tired) to jump ship to the "other worlds".  Brett and I had already been talking about coming back to Dreamworld before this event, and after seeing the makeover, we have made up our minds.

Unlike the other theme parks, Dreamworld is geared (in my opinion) towards the little ones so much better.  There is so much for them to do - not just this precinct.  Tiger Island never get's old and the Australian Wildlife Experience is a classic!

I would like to thank Megan from Reprise Media and Dreamworld for including Five Little Reasons in this event.  We had an absolute ball!

Dislaimer:  Five Little Reasons were invited to this Event for Bloggers.  We were not paid in anyway, but we received a goodie bag for each of the children.  We were never obliged to blog about the event or Dreamworld.
